Teaser Tuesday - Big Girl Small by Rachel Dewoskin

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.
The "rules" are as follows:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two “teaser” sentences from that page.
  • *NO SPOILERS*
  • Include the title and author in case other TT participants want to add the book to their TBR list.
"I don't know why I have to be like a magical elf of a teenager, but I somehow know it's impossible to know much until you're way older than we all are. I hate that."
~pps. 132-133 of Rachel DeWoskin's "Big Girl Small"

    1. Ah, do not be deceived, Heidi (that's my sister-in-law's name! :)). This book is far from cute. It's basically about how traumatizing your high school years can be just because you're different and how vicious teenagers can be if you make a mistake. :( It makes me quite glad I didn't go to a public HS growing up!

    1. I don't want you to be confused when you pick up this book, so I feel obligated to tell you (as I don't think this really gives away anything in the book) that this book is not fantasy - it's realistic fiction and the character speaking is referring to herself sarcastically as an elf because she is actually a Little Person.

    1. Isn't it though? It was impossible for me to (at least randomly) find two teaser sentences that actually related to the plot line that would make this book sound interesting enough to read, because the whole time the narrator is keeping the big "something" a secret, so I chose to go with a quote that at least people could recognize as true.
...wow that was a long sentence!
      Thanks for stopping by! :)
