About Me

Review Policy:

In case you're an author or publisher here looking to find out if I'm okay with reviewing books [sent to me], I'll get that out of the way first.
I would be happy to review any children's or YA books sent to me. (Any other books will be disregarded.)
I would be happy to do an author interview with you (assuming your book(s) is/are geared towards children or teenagers) via my blog to help promote your book.
Books will be reviewed in the order that they are received and it may take a very short time or a very long time to get a review up on my blog, depending on other factors such as (but not limited to): how many books were received before yours in my pile of books to review, what my school and workloads are like, and any other events going on in my life at the time.
REVIEWS WILL BE MY HONEST OPINION ON ALL ASPECTS OF THE BOOK. Please DO NOT send books to me if you are looking for a review that is guaranteed to sing praises.
If you are interested in any of this, please go to my Contact Me page and fill out the form.

About Me:

One day when answering one of my friends with a usual "nothing" when asked "what have you been up to lately?" I thought to myself, wow, that's my answer all the time. I must be a really boring person! So for years I always thought of myself that way. Until one day I signed up to participate in Miss Cindy's Meet a Blogger at her blog Oodles of Books. That's when I realized, outside of my family I know no one who has backpacked the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim as many times as I have, I have yet to come across someone else who has received the Gold Award in Girl Scouting, and it is "supposedly" impossible to lick your elbow, yet I can. And I can lick my elbow, too. Get it? hahaha I could lick your elbow but I can also (seriously) lick my own. -clears throat- *ahem*...anyway...

I like playing sports, and used to enjoy scrapbooking, until I spent every day for two weeks straight putting together an entire (and overstuffed at that) scrapbook for an anniversary present. I'm hoping by the time I have my own kids, I'm up for it again.

About the Blog:

There's not too incredibly much to say about the blog. It contains all of MY OWN personal opinions and does not intentionally reflect the views or policies of any organization or individual. I started the blog because I found out that the previous summer before I started my job, all employees had been required to keep one for a certain amount of time for "Web 2.0 training purposes", and I thought I'd give it a shot. Since I started the blog in June of 2009, I've had my ups and downs of being able to keep it as updated as I'd like. I'd like to ask that this Spring semester of 2010 to please bear with me if it winds up proving too difficult for me to keep up with school and blogging (unfortunately, school comes first) and I wind up disappearing (or at least slowing down) for a while.

I write my blog to a [Youth Services] librarian audience, though I know few, if any of my followers are, or ever will be YS librarians. However, with a tiny bit of modification, I believe my blog can be just as useful to parents, scout leaders, or any other people who work with youth (and still some of it can be useful to any passerby who is just looking for a good book to read). My blog contains (but is not limited to) reviews of helpful websites, [kids] games and other products, book, movie, and audiobook reviews, ideas for storytimes and other special programs, and even occasional resources for personal use. If I ever get around to taking pictures of some of the crafts I've made, I'll be adding craft ideas, also.
